Practice Continuity
Take leave without leaving clients stranded
Illness, parental leave, a planned absence, or winding down a practice — every consultant faces it eventually. Practice Continuity turns coverage from a favour you ask a colleague into a process with a record.
Coverage usually happens over text message, at the worst possible moment
A consultant needs time away and calls someone they trust. Files get emailed. Clients are told informally, if at all. Nobody is quite sure who is responsible for what, and when the original consultant returns, untangling who did what — and who is owed what — is guesswork.
What it does
The detail
Coverage requests
Request coverage from another consultant on the platform, and see incoming requests where colleagues have asked the same of you.
Structured handover
Cases are packaged for transfer rather than forwarded ad hoc, so the covering consultant gets the full picture.
A review step
The receiving consultant reviews the handover before accepting it. Nothing transfers silently.
Status on both sides
Both consultants can see where each request stands — requested, under review, accepted, or complete.
Settlement
Work out the financial side of transferred work explicitly, rather than in an awkward conversation months later.
A record of what moved
Which cases transferred, when, to whom, and on what terms — documented, not remembered.
How it works
In practice
- 1
Raise a continuity request
Start a request specifying the coverage you need and which cases are in scope. The other consultant sees it in their incoming queue.
- 2
The covering consultant reviews
They see what they are being asked to take on and review the handover in detail before committing to anything.
- 3
Handover completes
On acceptance, the cases move across with their history intact, and both sides can track the status from their dashboard.
- 4
Settle up
When the arrangement ends, the settlement step handles the financial side against a clear record of what was actually done.
