Blift is a technology platform that connects individuals seeking Canadian immigration services (“Clients”) with authorized and verified Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultants (RCICs) licensed by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC).

 

Blift is not a law firm, immigration consultant, or legal representative, and does not provide immigration or legal advice.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information necessary to operate the platform, ensure compliance, and facilitate services between Clients and RCICs.

I. Information You Provide Directly or as Needed

  • Name, email address, phone number

  • Date of birth, nationality, immigration status (Client-provided)

  • Profile details and onboarding information

  • Booking and consultation details

  • Uploaded documents (e.g., identification, case-related documents)

  • Payment and transaction details (processed via secure third-party providers)

II. RCIC-Specific Information

  • CICC license number

  • Professional profile details

  • Business and billing information

  • Compliance and verification records

III. Automatically Collected Information

  • IP address, device type, browser type

  • Platform usage data (logins, page views, activity logs)

  • Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 9)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Verify RCIC licensing and authorization with CICC

  • Match Clients with appropriate RCICs

  • Facilitate bookings, consultations, agreements, and payments

  • Enable secure messaging and document exchange

  • Manage workflows, case tracking, and platform features

  • Comply with legal, regulatory, and compliance obligations

  • Improve platform performance, security, and user experience

  • Communicate service updates, notifications, and support responses

Blift does not sell personal information.

4. Sharing of Information

We share personal information only when necessary and appropriate:

I. Between Clients and RCICs

With your explicit consent, relevant information is shared with verified RCICs to allow them to assess and manage your case.

II. Service Providers

We may share information with trusted third-party providers for:

  • Payment processing

  • Cloud hosting and data storage

  • Identity verification

  • Email and notification services

All providers are contractually required to maintain confidentiality and security.

III. Legal and Regulatory Obligations

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, regulatory authority, or to protect the rights, safety, or integrity of Blift, its users, or the public.

5. CICC Compliance & Professional Independence
  • RCICs using Blift act independently and are solely responsible for the immigration advice and representation they provide.

  • Blift does not interfere with RCIC professional judgment or client relationships.

  • Retainer agreements and consultation agreements are entered directly between Clients and RCICs, not Blift.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to:

  • Fulfill platform services

  • Meet legal, regulatory, and audit requirements

  • Resolve disputes and enforce agreements

Users may request deletion of their account, subject to legal retention obligations.

7. Data Security

Blift uses industry-standard security measures, including:

  • Encrypted data transmission (SSL/TLS)

  • Secure cloud infrastructure

  • Role-based access controls

  • Regular security monitoring and updates

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no system can be guaranteed 100% secure.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
